Preparing and finishing garden gnomes workshop.

    Hi lovely friends,
This week I was blessed with some gorgeous helper angels to assist with the dyeing and
cutting of the felt in preparation for Monday's craft session making gorgeous garden gnomes.
I did spend most of mothers day completing the process but managed to make it to bed by 11pm which is pretty good for a night before craft.
The felt looked lovely in the pot!
Preparing for our craft group on mothers day sunday before craft on moday!
My small children helped paint the faces and boots with much enthusiasm!

School craft table with supplies for the session and all the lovely mums out for some creative time!
We were very happy with our new little friends!
Next week at monday craft we are making these lovely woodland secret crystal caves.Inspiration and guidence by Christina Lane.

Autumn Garden Gnomes

This week at craft we will be making these gorgeous autumn garden gnomes.

We made these 7 for Angie and her class 1 birthday celebration.

Last year we did a workshop at school and made these rainbow fairy folk to live in the fairy toadstool house.
We used our hand painted rainbow felt made in an earlier workshop.
We had such creative responses from our clothing patterns.
I love the details sewn on

and their individuality.

We also made the rainbow baby dragon from Robyns' pattern
using our hand painted rainbow felt.
We added some embellishments
and softened his spine
adding beads to their heads and metalic thread to their wings.

The Fairy Toadstool House Story

Hi crafty friends,
Welcome to Toadstool House!
This is the original fairy toadstool house we made for our biggest school craft project yet.
We are passionate about craft and we love sharing our ideas and inspirations with other crafty  women. We run a craft group for parents at our school in which we present a project each week to make for school and one to take home. The classes are free and people can buy materials for their own projects to finish at home.

This project had a fantastic response as you can see below.

t we have some very creative women! Check out their work.

There were so many beautiful designs and ideas .there wre over 30 houses made.far too many photos to be shown here. This was half of them at our school market.

We made a last minute bid in our local country agricultural show and won first prize in the toy section winning a hansom sum of $6. But we were honoured to be chosen!

They also made a great impression at  the Vital Years Early Childhood Conference 2009 in Brisbane where we helped set up and run the craft shop co-op.

We were then invited to contribute the craft project to be published in "Star Weavers" autumn/winter 2010 edition, in the craft project section. This is a beautiful publication with superb visual images, gorgeous songs, stories and facinating articles. Its definately worth a read! Vicki Kearney who publishes it from Brisbane encouraged us to get a kit together. And so the Fairy Toad Stool House Kit was born!!!!!!
Kits can be purchased by contacting us at the bottom of the blog page.
